Location

Arrival/Transportation

Located just behind Bumungrad Hospital, which also has an immigration office if you need to extend your visa.1 block from the airport expressway off-ramp means you don't spend anytime in Bangkok traffic, the cost to get to most other places may be more than we charge for a bed .300m from the BTS (Sky train) 300m from the canal, and daytime access to KS Road and tourist attractions. A short Walk to Nana, Q-Bar, Bed Supper Club and all that is early Sukhumvit.

Don't be misled; being next to a World class hospital our street is quite, safe. There is not a "girly bar" on the street (Soi 1). The sleaze factor is 0. Two blocks east of here all that changes.

Walking distance to the British (6 blocks) USA , Vietnam, Netherlands, Spanish, Brazil, Turkey , Finland and New Zealand embassies, Others are an easy sky-train ride away.

We'd appreciate if you could reconfirm your booking, by email or phone, 12-48 hours before your arrival, failure to do so could result in your booking being allo cated to someone else. (But don't sweat it, unless you're a large group.)

We will do our best to accommodate you and honor your booking deposit should you need to alter your booking dates.

The following might be of some help in getting here : BEWARE….. Here is our FIRST Tip to All, No matter where you decide to stay. (Karma builder; p)

Beware of the 'Nice people' just as you enter the public part of the airport offering you a TAXI !!!!! You'd be nice too if you were about to be given 750-1000+ baht for a 350 baht service. Let me share with you what I do in any major Airport. Follow these steps in Bangkok .

( Do This and you'll save the cost of your room----Upon arrival get bags then to 'Departures' and grab a Taxi as he is letting off a fare. Faster than waiting in line , and driver is eager to get a fast fare from nowhere, the meter is your best way, INSIST on it! 300-350 baht is the norm.(200 on meter)+(2 tolls 25+40)+(50 baht airport service fee) This is another little trick of many that can make your experience here so much easier and possibly save you the cost of your room... and if there are 2 or more of you, sharing a taxi is the only way to go, Taxi is also 3 times faster as we are 1 block off the expressway. If they don't want to use the meter, Close the door and catch the next one. We can't make you more aware. Want hassle free Arrival? Bus Info from Airport………..

The 552 bus cost 150 baht per person and doesn't give you door to door service, Stops a million times and uses the main rd TRAFFIC can take 1-3 hrs,,,.useThe taxi - 30 minutes , door to door and about 300 baht. I've done each way and believe me the taxi with meter is the GO.)

If you arrive at the airport ,alone, your cheapest way to get here would be the 552 bus to the
" On Nut"(E9) Skytrain board the skytrain there, at that point there is only one direction to go west so it's easy enough. from there go to the Phloen Chit stop (E2). get off walk down steps on what was the right side as you arrived, at bottom of steps walk back the way you came, cross railroad tracks take the first street on you left. This street is called Soi 1. walk down Soi 1 for about 200 meters and we are on the right side just before the 7-11. Sounds a bit detailed but it's not. total walk distance less than 300 meters.

The street is also named 'Soi 1' we are about 300 meters up Soi 1 on right just in front of the 7-11. Big Sign (Soi 1 Guesthouse) should be brightly lit for you late night arrivals.

our phone again as called in Thailand is 02-655-0604

We feel we are the best located Hostel / Guesthouse in Bangkok, Compare our easy Accessible location and our short walking distance to the major modes of cheap transportation ( BTS, Skytrain , Canals, Subway and with the best hospital in Thailand one block ( Bumrungrad) from us, taxis are always about no matter the AM or PM) Compare.. You will see that the savings per day in transportation to and from "Soi 1 guesthouse” while visiting Bangkok , will pay for your nights stay in any hostel here. We are in central Bangkok you can see on the map, locate others on the map that claim the same and compare.

There are so many things, with-in Walking Distance, around like....

Temples , shops, Markets, Parks, Cheap Transport from here to anywhere in the city. We are centrally located, near (1 block) from the highway that takes you to/from Airport. from here that makes it almost impractical to take anything but the taxi (less than 250 baht) many do it for less than 200 as there is no in-town traffic ( Bangkok rhymes with gridlock) or lights to contend with. Waking distance to Embassy row, The famous 'Suan Lum 'Night Markets , Major cinema's ( go on a Monday cheap) and Shopping centers BMK- Siam –Central world, Pratnum plaza, Pantip plaza ( a leg shaking 5 stories of computer and IT goods.) Baiyok tower = tallest building in Bangkok with a rotating platform for a full 360degree look at the city , It also has what I think is the greatest buffet in Bangkok bit pricey at 600 baht but worth it, what a selection!! This is a great place to impress.

Update.. a top massage place two blocks down. Get a Real "Thai" massage 1 hour for 200 baht. If I had more time I'd go everyday. at home it would be 10 times the cost easy. You'd be "Hard Pressed " to find better in Bangkok. (Hard Pressed hee hee bad pun.)

See the world before it seizes you !!
